The Yadkin River Keeper sponsored a joint event with "Keep Davison County Beautiful," "Three Rivers Land Trust," "Rowan County Creek Week," the town of Spencer and "Davidson County Tourism Investment Partnership." The event included a litter cleanup around the park, a talk about the area history and future, music and concluded with a sunset paddle led by RowCoRiveradventures.

The mayor of Spencer, Jonathan Williams also announced that the town plans to build a park on the Rowan County side of the Wilcox Bridge and connect with the efforts Davidson County already has underway.
